A goal of mine is to show the connection of research and the technically trained. One example is White Sands Testing Facility in New Mexico. The ratio of engineer to technical is one to one.
ATEA will have a member tour to White Sands the fall of 2020 where we will see visit the facility.
If you followed or watched the Apollo 11 launch, trip, walk and return from the moon, you heard the astronaunts give credit to the thousands ( up to 500,000) doers who made the trip and return from the moon possible.
Those are the men and women that the American Technical Education Association honors everyday for your/their work.
We need to continue to be a nation of doers--not just observers and analysts, people who are "of" not "about."
ATEA is planning a members conference for the fall of 2020 to Las Cruces New Mexico on ecosystem needed around a spaceport. Las Cruces has Spaceport American funded by the State of New Mexico and now the home terminal of Virgin Galactic's space mission. VG is moving its operations from the Mojave Dessert to Spaceport America. The conference will look at technical training needs at the Spaceport and at White Sands Testing Facility and White Sands Missile Range. Dona Anna and New Mexico State University will be part of the programming to show how they have worked together to create seamless transfer and new divisions to meet the needs of space travel.
Join ATEA now if you want to be eligible to register for the conference. Registration will open November 2019 and the conference will be October 2020.
